Go 1.19 introduced new formatting for doc comments, and a new package
for processing them. This change uses the new package when gopls is
compiled with go 1.19 or later.
The difficulty is with the hover tests, which have to work both when
gopls is compiled with earlier versions of go, and with go 1.19.
Fortunately the changes in formatting the test cases are easily checked.

We should not offer links to variable or type declarations in function
scope. Improve our heuristics to check that the declaration object is
actually reachable from the package scope.
Also push down handling of private import paths, so that the
HoverJSON.importPath field can be removed.

Hover on type specs was using the RHS of the type declaration and then
later rebuilding the declaration syntax. It was thereby dropping type
parameter lists.
Fix this by capturing the entire *TypeSpec for the signature, and
simply dropping comments from the node before formatting, so that they
are not duplicated.

This change adds support for full documentation of builtin types in the
hover info, consisting of the type declaration, a link to pkg.go.dev,
and the text of the doc comments in the `builtin` pseudo-package.
Full documentation for builtin functions was already supported.
Removes the special case for the `error` interface, which is not needed
and didn't provide the full documentation anyway, only the type
declaration.
The code has to determine the parent ast.GenDecl (which holds the doc
comments) for the ast.TypeSpec of a builtin type.

Enable to hover runes found in basic literals in various forms.
When a rune is found, the hover message provides a summary composed of a
printable version (if it exists) of the rune, its codepoint and its name.
Behaviour varies slightly depending on the basic literal: rune literals
always display the summary when hovered, string literals only display it
when an escaped rune sequence is found to avoid providing unnecessary
information, and finally number literals only when expressed as a
hexadecimal number whose size ranges from one to eight bytes.

As an experiment, this CL introduces the first gopls feature that is
specific to generics: enriching function hover information with inferred
types. This is done with no additional gating on build constraints by
using the new internal/typeparams package.
The marker tests are updated to allow tests that rely on type parameters
being enabled.

There are 2 different anonymous struct declarations that require
different approaches:
1. var x struct{...}
2. x := struct{...}{}
For the first one we can use the existing solution with a minor update.
However, it returns the wrong docs for the fields of nested structs.
To fix this we need to visit all fields recursively.
The second one is not a generic declaration. So, the simplest solution
is to use the method Snapshot.PosToField.

The current hover information for constant time.Duration is not very
useful because it displays nanoseconds. So, show formatted duration
as an inline comment.

Previously running "definition" on the "myAlias" field would take you
to the definition of "someType" instead of "myAlias". This is because
we were using the field's (*types.Var).Type() which has already
forgotten it is an alias. Fix by instead looking up the field name
ident in types.Info.Uses which yields the *types.TypeName (for the
type alias).

This change standardizes the folder structure for testdata that are used for testing the lsp. In particular, it uses the following format:
- dir
- primarymod
- .go files
- packages
- go.mod (optional)
- modules
- repoa
- mod1
- .go files
- packages
- go.mod (optional)
As we can see, any folder inside of testdata should be of this format, where the primary test files with the markers are all located inside the primarymod folder. The modules folder is used to hold any potential dependencies that are used for testing.
A consequence of this change is that we can have one directory separated by folders, where each folder is it's own module, this allows us to use internal/lsp/tests with go.mod files. Now, tests.Load() will return an array of Data objects, where each object corresponds to one of the directories structured above.

This change adds support for the LSP workspace/symbol. Unlike
documentSymbol, the target is symbols that exist not only in a specific
file, but also in the current or imported packages. It returns symbols
whose name contains the query string of the request(case-insensitive),
or all symbols if the query string is empty.
However, the following is not implemented:
- Setting of deprecated and containerName fields in SymbolInformation
- Consideration of WorkspaceClientCapabilities
- Progress support
- CLI support

source.Identifier previously was used for references and rename, so it
needed to take a package policy. Now, it's only used for definition and
hover, so it should always be the narrowest package handle. We can use
this fact to determine if the identifier is located in its declaring
package, and if that package is a test variant, we don't link to the
documentation on pkg.go.dev, since it doesn't exist.

This change refactors some of the logic that builds a link anchor for
a given symbol, pushing the actual Link into the HoverInformation struct.
This is necessary because type information is needed to build up that
link in certain cases, like methods.

None of the godef tests were running due to a mistake in the test
harness code. Fix them and re-enable.
We decided that the range for an import statement should be the whole
import path, not just the first character, so make that change and
adjust the PrepareRename tests accordingly.

Suggested fixes was totally broken (invalid command) and many others were not in
correct sorted order.
There were lots of golden entries that were no longer used.
The regeneration script itself was broken
The definition tests are skipped, so the entries were not regenerated.
Files must have been hand edited, we probably need to document how to generate
them somewhere.

When there is an explicit name for an import spec, treat it as its own
identifier, separate from the import path.
Example:
import h "hello"
The name h is defined in that import spec, not in the package hello
it contains its own references. If asked about a position within the
import path, continue treating that as referencing the imported package.
If the position is within the name, use the identifier there that is
local to that file.
This change allows for go to definition of the explicit name to point to
itself, find all references from the import spec, and rename the
explicit name from the import spec.

Since 'IdentifierInfo' doesn't contain ast node of import spec,
gopls will construct an empty string under plaintext mode and
'```go\n\n```' under markdown mode for *ast.ImportSpec. For now,

Implicit local variables for type switches do not appear in the Uses
map and do not have objects associated with them. This change
associates all of the different types objects for the same local type
switch declaration with one another in the declaration.
The identifier for the implicit local variable does not have a type but
does have declaration objects.
Find references for type switch vars will return references to all the
identifiers in all of the case clauses and the declaration.

This change removes the explicit configuration for improved
documentation on hover. We use a comment's synopsis rather than the full
comment.
However, we also add a "noDocsOnHover" setting that is used by the cmd
tests. Ultimately, no one should use this setting and we should remove
it. We leave it temporarily because the cmd tests still need work.

Now the "type" of a *ast.PkgName is the package it points to. Of
course, a package is not a real types.Type, but we can still jump you
there. We have to pick one of the package's files, so we choose the
longest one, hoping it is the most interesting.
Similarly, the "definition" of an *ast.ImportSpec is the package being
imported.
I also added a nil check for the package in SignatureHelp. This panics
for me occasionally.

I was about to add some more tests and it caused a huge number of golden files,
which was hard to deal with. Now all the golden files are packed into a single
.golden archive in the txtar format.
I also changed the tagging key for hover results to use the marker name rather
than the line and column, as it makes it more stable against test data changes.

When jumping to definition of an embedded struct pointer, be sure to
unwrap the pointer type so you properly jump to the pointee type.
Also, fix jumping to definition of an embedded struct inside an
anonymous struct inside a struct. The embedded struct detection was
continuing too far and thinking it wasn't an embedded struct when it
saw the anonymous struct.

This upgrades the current gopls query definition tests to use the main testdata
folder. This considerably increases the coverage and also sets us up to better
test the other command line features as we add them.

Added a View interface to the source package, which allows for reading
of other files (in the same package or in other packages). We were
already reading files in jump to definition (to handle the lack of
column information in export data), but now we can also read files in
diagnostics, which allows us to determine the end of an identifier so
that we can report ranges in diagnostic messages.

This makes our internal version of go to definition be tested with the
same test data that godef now uses
