Built after adding -Wconversion to the list of compiler
arguments used when building. I believe these are all OK
assuming we will not change the API. There is no effort to
detect overflow due to very long strings.

This makes the full file paths recorded by 6g
prefer $PWD over the actual directory name
(relevant when $PWD gets to the current directory
via symlinks). It's what everyone else does, and
what people expect.
